At Paulding Gymnastics, we believe that every child should dream big! That’s why we have partnered with Make-A-Wish Georgia to help more children’s wishes come true! Every year Make-A-Wish Georgia partners with local businesses, community leaders and special events, like the Grant a Wish Classic, to raise the necessary funds to make every eligible child’s wish a reality. With your participation in the Grant a Wish Classic, we can help Make-A-Wish Georgia and further help every child facing a life-threatening medical condition to wish upon a star!
About Make-A-Wish Georgia
Twenty years ago, Make-A-Wish Georgia began in the home of volunteer Debbie Tillman. She wanted a way to honor the memory of her son who had passed away at the age of three. As a grieving mother, she decided the best way to accomplish her goal was to devote her time to making the dreams a reality for local children battling life-threatening medical conditions. At her dining room table, she, and a group of like-minded community leaders, created what is known today as Make-A-Wish Georgia. In 1995, Make-A-Wish Georgia granted their very first wish to a boy named Ares, who was battling a brain tumor. Ares had wished to meet the Atlanta Hawks and, with the help of the local community, his wish was granted with a big, court-side celebration!
With over 600 hundred children waiting to have their wish granted, the Grant a Wish Classic inspires us and is so vital to helping close that gap. Here in Georgia, our chapter has granted over 300 wishes this past year and we look forward to reach the 7,000th mark in the coming months. Make-A-Wish Georgia was started by volunteers and continues to be successful because of the support from our local community. We are proud that with the help of our friends, we are able to bring hope, strength and joy to the lives of children battling serious illness right in our backyard.
Thank you for being an integral part of Sharing the Power of a Wish!
Make-A-Wish Georgia has granted over 6,000 wishes in our local community. We believe that a wish experience can be a game-changer. This single belief guides us in everything we do. It inspires us to grant wishes that change the lives of the kids we serve.
